Our homemade sunscreen recipe relies on a physical barrier that stays on the surface of the skin rather than penetrating through as most chemical sunscreens do.
This Natural olive oil based sunscreen is designed with water repellent properties which make it ideal for use during swimming, surfing and other water activities while in Sun. Lightweight, non-greasy and easy to apply, this reef-friendly sunscreen is also suitable for use on children.
Natural oils are known to have a level of SPF protection.
Olive Oil: SPF 6-8
Coconut Oil: SPF 5-10
Cocoa Butter: SPF 6-15
Zinc Oxide: SPF 2-20 depending on how much is used.
Beeswax: 2-5
We use ‘Non-Nano Zinc Oxide’ which stays on top of the skin as compared to ‘Nano Zinc Oxide’ that can go deep into the layer of skin. That’s not safe, and it leaves the top layers of skin unprotected.
Beeswax is known to have excellent water resistant properties and filled with natural goodness.
Olive Oil, Coconut Oil, Cocoa Butter, Beeswax & Zinc Oxide
Apply 30 minutes before sun exposure to face,neck & all other exposed areas. Reapply every 2 hours or as needed.
Best use within 6 months of opening.
With all sunscreens avoid contact with eyes and if irritation persists discontinue use. Wear protective clothing, hats and sunglasses when exposed to the sun for longer period of times, and stay in the shade where possible. Frequent reapplication and use in accordance with the directions is required for effective protection. Always read the label and use only as directed.
